On August 10, 2018, a California jury ruled that Monsanto’s Roundup and Ranger Pro herbicides contributed to a school groundskeeper’s lymphoma and slapped the company with a combined $289 million in compensatory and punitive damages in a landmark suit against the agricultural giant, which has denied links between its herbicides and cancer for decades.
Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer (herbicide) has been designated as a probable human carcinogen by the World Health Organization.
